Startrails 1. Cubaan mendapatkan Hour Glass punyer shape tetapi gagal kerana ketiadaan ultra wide lens.
Nikon D3, 24mm F4.0, ISO400, 3 minutes x (430AM-7:00AM) exposures.

single shot so no dark frames, flats, bias etc evil

at break of dawn, Canon EOS 550D, 30s, f/3.5 kit lense 18-35mm at 20.0mm iso800

ahem...maybe less than 20% equipment  cost of the first pic  grin

NICE!!!

R u sure it was not taken from on top of an AstroTrac??? then that would definitely push the value substantially... hehehehe~

Satu lagi astrofoto dari Pantai Mek Mas

first for WO TMB FLT 110 with dedicated flattener

first for IDAS LPS filter on Canon 40D hutech mod.

first for PhD autoguiding with Skywatcher ED80 and Philips toucam

first for using lights, darks, flats and bias for DSS processing

first for star hopping to find nebula. using 3 stars to locate and frame rosette nebula.

Lights- 2X480 sec(8 total taken but clouds got in the way, usable only 2)
Darks  -3X480 sec
Flats   -4 using the  baju dalam method early morning
Bias     -4
Camera ISO 800

too long a focal length for  rosette.

the next night set up to take with 400mm f5.6 and 200mm f2.8 but weather not cooperative. grin

will try again in March insyaAllah.

cheers

Lovely! LPS filter mmg menjadi. Boleh nampak difference dgn my orange background that I have.

Maybe boleh cuba CCD pula lepas ni since dah guna PC untuk autoguiding, and its there... Better SNR.

Assalamualaikum dan salam sejahtera

Only now managed to find some time to play-play with post-processing in MaximDL.

Image below was among the earliest first-light by my QHY9-mono CCD.

Scope was Equinox 80ED.

CCD was installed with LPS-V4. RGB filter not use.

Just simple Auto dark frame setting was used in MaxIm DL.

No bias, no flats.

Single 300 sec (5 minutes) exposure
Autoguiding with QHY5-80mm, using PHD.

Part of Rosette Nebula was at the mid-top frame. Ada 'story' disebalik framing ini.  grin

Was inspired by Pak Aziz's attempt to target Rosette Nebula at the same time.

Further study and manual astrometry with Skymap Pro concludes that the photons capture goes deeper than the 14+ magnitude limit of my Skymap!  shocked

Now can definitely start some serious ccd-comet-hunting.  cool

This will be forever be noted amongst my earliest images done by my CCD setup rig. Hard work, money spend..  pays off, Alhamdulillah.

Terima kasih kepada Dr.Rowi dan Pak Aziz in assisting with the drift alignment and setups . and other tips by Redzuan.

Important lesson ... imaging session and outreach cannot mix!  grin

Wah saudara Shah dan mula berjinak-jinak dengan Maxim for post processing.

Tenggok Tutorial Maxim pun dah gerun. Banyak sangat parameters yang hendak di control. Nak belajar bolih k.

Berapa minute exposure sahingga begitu banyak stars.

cheers

Baru je start godey MaxIm. Belum layak untuk ajar, tapi boleh buat frequent knowledge sharing session over TT.  cool

My image above is a single 5 minutes (300 sec) light frame image plus 300 sec dark. So belum buat stacking lagi. No multiple exposure to play around, from CCD that is..

You should see M35. simply put, like mentioned in 2001:A Space Odyssey .. "it's full of stars"

I should do deeper study on the faintest magnitude captured in the photo. Letih juga guna manual astrometry. Probably kena beli PinPoint full version to assist.

BTW, QHY9 was cooled to setpoint -10 deg.

wah dengan DSLR 480 sec pun tak sebanyak itu. Tapi DSLR sensor at +30dec (maybe more )

maybe this will help to cool the DSLR. Sensor temp can reach -5deg too. evil

from this to this

and how it is done here

Then again maybe to this

It looks like got cocooned by a giant caterpillar.  shocked

BTW when you are tired of manual astromery this may be of help. Focus your mind to astrophotography   grin

cheers

Not sure how the battery would react in those conditions...

The hyper mod is terrifying...
