Assalamualaikum dan salam sejahtera.

Sky suddenly clears late midnight. Badan sakit-sakit, paksa diri juga nak buat imaging..hari ni terus flat.

Sky condition slightly hazy towards South.

Flats, Flat-Darks, Darks applied.. wohoo  

Color Data not good plus belum reti nak balance color.  

Focusing not perfect. Tunggu gadget sampai  

AMARAN: Jangan colorized-kan foto ini. Memang niat untuk BW.

begets the question of Mono CCD versus One Shot Colour (OSC) CCD versus DSLR (mod).   

nampaknya masalah guiding sudah selesai dan lulus kendali Maxim.

Tq Pak Aziz, SMS Clear sky alert tak boleh nak lawan kalau mata ngantuk.. hehe 

11.6 minutes, combination of 7 X 100 Sec. Dah beberapa kali buat lebih 5 minutes sub, only to have spots of clouds conveniently popping at the target area! Sabor sabor... So, decided rather than risking of wasting valuable time, buat subs.. probably I can push 200 sec, but feel 'safer' with 100 sec.. for now

Guiding via MaxIm can last forever! No problem so far. Nice indeed.

Anyway, did the PHD-Drift method semalam, berjaya dengan mudah.

So the kilat was a false alarm. Suruh orang berumur masuk tidur 

SMS tak jadi.

kalau macam tu cuba lah dengan Canon 550D. download Astro Photography Tool - APT

and get the colour version of  Eta Carina for the same amount of time.
 

Anyway, did the PHD-Drift method semalam, berjaya dengan mudah. 

So it works. Drift alignment can be frustrating but required for astrophotography.

This so tempting. Have you tried it yet Pak Aziz? It's like maxim (simplified) for DSLR.

Kudos to Shah. Especially for showing (proving) that astrophotos can be taken even in KL sky.

No chance to do field test with the present KL sky condition. For taking dark and flats tested OK.

The latest beta version 1.45 has DARV ; two clicks and you mount is polar aligned. How is that for convenience.

In fact Ivo the owner has assured me that by end of April he will incorporate drift alignment procedure for AstroTrac.

Now that DSLR is becoming popular for astro imaging  more and more such programmes are appearing.

BackyardEOS is quite similar but most find it more intuitive.

One thing for sure it has made the setting up and image taking so easy and more affordable with less technical know how required (as it should be) and more of passion  ...and with DSS for registration and stacking wow we should see more and more SGO type image on FO.
