TQ.  Ahem...I wonder how much more detail will the QHY IMG0H gives at double the QHY5's price for the cooled version.

I suggest you try this  visual inspection first during daytime ; click here

Give me a call next week and we will see what can be done.

cheers

Browsing the www there is a group just doing planetary imaging especially Jupiter

click on each to see their amazing work

1. Damian Peach . Using C11 and C14 . I have got his DVD on Guide to Planetary Imaging

2. J-Luc Dauvergne using the  1-meter Cassegrain reflector

3. Anthony Wesley aka Bird

All of them has one advantage--great seeing. grin

Nice Jupiter detail captured by qhy5 thru C8. Waiting to see the more Jupiter with GRS maybe from C11 later? Or maybe IMGoH  evil ?

Thanks to mymoon & shahgazer on helping me with the rehearsel on my front porch last week. It has been frustrating nights for me so far. There's been a short time when the sky is clear after dusk. And the old wives tales of setting up the gears outside which followed by the rolls of clouds that stays during most of the night, appears to be unsangkarable to happen (to me at least).

Between those clouds, shots were taken in an attempt to at least give a bit of a sigh relief - rather than just a plain physical exercise of carrying out & back in with the gears.

Same setup of megrez90, powermate4x, qhy5 on a not very good of a seeing night. Shots were taken on the morning of 28th, pre dawn.

Was wondering if anybody does have a colour webcam collecting dust / not realizing there is one in the box unused.

Wasn't too sure on the orientation of the galilean moons anyway; this therefore raise the question of how do I know which one is which (apart from the visual during the observation) ? afro

You have a colour webcam in the form of  crop movie 640X480 from your Canon 60D  evil

sorry as the Mat Salleh would tell me "RTFM".  shocked

That is a 7X crop factor inbuilt. Coupled to the 4X barlow your effective magnification is 28X. Tambah lagi the 1.6X inherent in the 60D.

Effective focal length for in my case 500mm with an added 1.4x converter is 7800mm!

So jupiter or saturn will appear football size relatively speaking instead  of current ping pong ball size  grin

Now your video capture using the movie crop mode is in mov format.

you need to convert to avi mode acceptable to Registax 6.

I use the programme eRightSoft SUPER

Download and install. Take care NOT to install the BADWARE programme REAL PLAYER that tenggek with the software.

Should you terinstall REAL PLAYER google how to uninstall if the usual uninstall is not sufficient.

Using eRightSoft SUPER. set the following parameters.

Output COntainer: AVI
Output Video Codec: Raw UnCompressed
MEncoder
Video: Scale size: No Change, FPS:60 Bitrate:29040, Options: High
Quality, Stretch it
Audio:Disable

or ask Shahgazer how to do the conversion using VirtualDub at a bit lesser quality .

cheers

Or... you can spend RM200 to get my unused Toucam... grin

It is in color... But I would suggest Windows XP platform... as most other astronomical software requirements...

Nice.
Sekarang baru tau BackyardEOS support 60D.

I don't like my red-ish look on jupiter taken with the astrodonized60D. I presume Pak Aziz un-RED kan gambor ni in CS2 as mentioned. If not, bleh share on that tips.
