The night sky was good that particular morning. My polar alignment skill is not. Plenty of shots captured, but limited to 3osecs subs. More shots could've been captured if not due to the time taken to get the setup aligned which took me almost forever. All shots were unguided.

Megrez90+eq6pro+Canon60D(astrodonized)+astronomikCLS.

M8 @ 3osecs sub

M17 @ 30secs sub

Tahniah. great capture and good processing . I would prefer you take the red down a little ....but that's my preference only.

The prinsip Go Slow there is no short cut, work.

30 sec subs is coming close to limit of non guided subs.

need a light 80mm guidescope such as ST80. makes great guiding system piggy back or side by side with your silver QHY5 and PHD. grin

for darker skies maybe can use 50 0r 60 mm guide scope.

Keep the pictures coming.

cheers

Tahniah Halda,

Pretty good effort!

30sec for how many frames ye? or is it a single 30sec shot only?

did you use the PHD method for polar alignment?

Yes, agree with Pak Aziz, go get a dedicated guuidescope baru best!  grin

Thanks.

Those were both single shot sahaje of 30 secs. Tried doing the alignment with PHD, but I was scratching my head with the inclined elevation of my parking space. Then I opted with the traditional star drift on 30secs shots. That works for me, at the cost of quite a time.

Still have plenty of acceptable 30secs subs of both objects, with the plan of stacking it to see how does it improve. But to no available, DSS doesnt give me a decent image upon stacking them all. What I captured during the session was the light frames and dark frames. No flats. Nothin else.

Do u guys think by stacking just light & dark frame (without flats) has been causing me not to get any result at all? I tried adjusting the curves after the stacking, but I didnt get to see anything like it at all.     huh

Adeh.

You mean DSS says not enough stars. I get by with number of stars above 20. The higher the number the more accurate is the stackingbut takes a loooong time.

then read this tutorial

refer to Stacking Your Images

cheers
