Salaam,

Just want to share the first ever astrophoto that I took last night. I've been reading a few sites before tapi never actually tried anything. Recently, got excited to try astrophotography after restarting on reading skyandtelescope etc.

So, yesterday, after a week of rain during the night, we have a partially clear night finally. Dalam kepenatan, I took any equipment that I have and try mash something up based on some faint memory of how to do it. Living in Sg Merab which is sandwiched by Putrajaya and Bangi, the sky is not that great.

Using a tripod, Canon 7D, and a Sigma 20mm 1.8, I took and stacked seven photos of Andromeda constellation (I wanted to see if I can see M31 from it) using DSS. I just downloaded it and stack using the Quick Start tip. Play around with the curves to make the starts stand out and play around also with PS afterwards. I'll update with camera settings later as I didn't remember except for having 30 secs exposures for not having any tracking system. I converted the photo to black and white, as it just looked much clearer for me. I added the lines for my own learning of the constellation. I'm pretty sure the one in the circle is the galaxy, right?

Whatever it is, here's the photo.

Salaam,

Terima kasih atas suntikan semangat. Rasanya apa yang boleh betulkan dari segi editing eh? Mungkin perlu lebih banyak baca teknik processing ni juga. Boleh tengok juga timer tu. Saya memang photography based, so 50 1.8 1.4 n even 85 1.8 pun ada dekat rumah. Mungkin boleh try different lenses lah lepas ni..

Sejak kali pertama ambil gambar ni, awan telah menutupi seluruh langit setiap malam.. Just waiting for my 2nd try..Smiley
