Despite playing catchup with some high thin clouds, bad tracking, no remote-cable, no darks, no flats and just 30sec subs... this is my 1st light with my Canon 40D modded with Astrodon filter from downtown SGO, Sri Damansara.

Kudos. Welcome to the astrodon club.

Highly recommended.

For astrophotography , replace your stock Canon DSLR UV/IR  filter with Astrodon UV/IR filter:-D

Cheers

Not wanting to create too many threads since this session was done at the same time, I'd like to continue this thread by sharing what I got from Seremban.

While Tokey FO was busy testing his new 40Da, I was in Seremban waiting for the clouds to clear...

And when the clouds thinned a little, I took a few shots whenever possible. The thin clouds made the sky orange. Orion nebula didn't turn out to be good drenched in orange so I tried star clusters instead... Plaeides was already blocked by the neighbor's house... So M41 was chosen since the clouds gave some few seconds of opening.

Here it is then:

Single image not stacked... waiting for clear skies again...

Wah! Tak boleh tahan. Sudah banyak 'toy' di Malaysia. 40D ada, 50Da ada, QHY9 ada...... siap dengan astrodon pulak

Anyway, hasilnya cukup bagus. Hanya cuaca sahaja penghalang terbesar.

Saya rasa komuniti amatur astronomi di Malaysia sudah mula berani bereksperimen dengan gajet-gajet yang 'luar dari kebiasaan'.

Tahniah semua.
