I believe the more the number of light photons the more the nebulosity and 50 x 30 sec is not similar 10 x 150 sec. Although the maths is the same

Unfortunately from my location at down town KL maximum exposure is slightly above 120sec with CLS filter.
So either a faster telescope such as hehe.... f2 or a better low noise camera that can increase ISO to 64000 but without eating stars.
The idea was to find out what went wrong at BCS with PHD. Was advise to reinstall PHD.
Must investigate with IDAS LPS filter and if cloud permits with Ha filter too.
At KB, a darker site max is in the region of 300 sec for uncooled DSLR.
That is a huge increase in number of photons captured.
So it is better to find a dark site and spend a week of imaging in summer and a week in winter...hint..hint.
Maybe inputs from others on their experience imaging the night sky.
Cheers
