I managed to get up early and snap a few picture of 'Mercury'.
I managed to see the Sun using the projection method.
However, I'm now a bit confused. You'll see..

Oh, and i increased the contrast so it was easier to see.

Testing the equipment. Its ok!

A nice round Sun with a dot plonked on its edge.

There's the Sun, and there's Mercury! Or is it?

Upon higher magnification, I spotted something(above) that looked like patches around the main
object. It reminded me of an egg on a frying pan. It was starting to look like..a sunspot!
[The black dor wasnt caused by dust on my paper]

Did i wake up real early just to see a sunspot that would have waited for me all day?
Well,the black dot did move.

Could someone please help confirm my findings?
PS: Never put your finger on an eyepiece's optics while the telescope is pointed at the Sun!

Oh no!!
Oh well, like they say, the truth is always ugly.

Yes, the sunspot is rather nice.

I actually used the projection method.
The reason it looks abit filtered is that i gave
it some more contrast with the magic software, Adobe Kedai Foto!

Aiya...Mercury was actually on the opposite side of the Sun when you observe.

Anyway, it's still a good attempt. As for me, I was "observing" in my sleep!
