ehem..

tak habis2 dgn milky way.
nway, this time, i shot this milky way near my rural medicine education centre, somewhere in kudat Sabah (now got 3 H1NI case here, huhuh). The sky was soo beautiful until it fools me enough, by showing me the two objects that i can only identified, jupiter and milky way. otherwise, all the stars looks like a grain of sand to me. Subhanallah!

the gears that i used was d90, 50mm 1.8 lens, n normal tripod. stack of 7 shots with 13sec exposure each.

c&c most welcomed. tq

p/s : can u identify the M7 and butterfly cluster?

Dah pernah cuba dengan kit lens 18-55 atau 18-135mm? Saya dulu guna lens tu untuk dptkan wider angle + tak tahu mcm mana, tapi colors lagi lawa pula (dulu MrUniverse pernah terangkan tapi sampai arini masih tak berapa faham konsep lens murah tp dpt gambar lg lawa pula).

Boleh share gambar original size ka? mau try PP sket2 mana2 yang boleh. Lupa jg nak tanya shoot RAW atau JPEG shj? PP & stacking guna software apa dan setting camera yang lain2?

amahir:
1. when looking at your picture the eyes are drawn to the relatively bright trees at the bottom of the picture and not to the milky way which is the subject matter.. silau.. so crop the picture to remove them but if trees are part of your picture then darken it by using the burn tool so as not to compete with your milky way.

2. Your sky is too red RGB:39,25,16. Suggest the sky shall be 30,30,30. Try not to make the sky black at 0,0,0. Too artificial

3. So I reset the black point, increase the contrast and brightness , balance the colour , saturate the colour and a bit of noise reduction and sky at 30,30,30

or a brighter sky 48,48,48

cheers

amahir's attempt to include the tree foreground in his picture of the milky way is a good attempt at creative astrophotography.
Rather than take "record shots" of the milky way he has tried to infuse the element of depth to his picture. Without the tree foreground his picture is flat single dimension.

click here for the thought process of a well known landscape photographer when photographing the star trail.

Click here and click the eclipse thumbnail on the left to see what can be achieved with the Canon 300D and 18-55 kit lense and a 70-210 mm lense.

Saudara Shah there is still life in the 300D. grin

cheers
